Understanding Your Responsibilities as an F1/J1 Visa Student |

Join ISSS for this interactive event! Students will play “Immigration Trivia” to learn about their student visa status, and the two top teams will go away with a Fear the Bird Shirt. |

Maintaining Your Health & Wellness |

Presenters from Student Health Insurance and Student Health Services will highlight the health resources avaialbe to students at Illinois State and discuss how to navigate the health insurance process. | |
Learn About Your Rights and Responsibilities |

Staff from Student Conduct and Community Resposibilities and the Dean of Students Office will provide information on the Code of Student Conduct, community rights, and support services at Illinois State. | |
Welcome Dinner with Academic Departments |

All new international students are invited to a Welcome Dinner in the Prairie Room in the Bone Student Center. Staff from the Office of International Engagement will be there to welcome students and guests. Representatives from the different academic colleges will also be there to talk about programs, events, and opportuntities within their areas. | |

On-Campus Employment & Career Services |

Students will learn about the immigration rules related to employment, discover the various ways Career Services can assist them, and learn how to find and apply for on-campus jobs. |

Introduction to Social Security and Taxes |

Students will learn how to apply for a Social Security Number (SSN), submit and update their I-9 hiring paperwork, and the basics of the U.S. tax system. |

During lunch, guests from Illinois State University's Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality unit will present on employment opportunities in the various EMDH venues around campus. |

All international students are invited to join OIE staff and guests at the ISU Bowling and Billiards Center for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship. Come meet other international students, learn about different campus organizations, and enjoy some delicious pizza! |
